Rachael Moorthy receives Basel's Stephen Crane Award

The Department of English heartily congratulates Rachael Moorthy, the winner of Basel's Stephen Crane Award for Research in North American Literary and Cultural Studies for 2025. The prize is awarded biennially for the best MA thesis or PhD thesis on American literature or culture written at the University of Basel. She won the prize with her excellent MA thesis "Songs of Paradise: Music as a Map to The Door of No Return in Toni Morrison’s Middle Novels."
