Discourse practices of video-oriented textual comments
Thomas Messerli and Miriam Locher have jointly edited and contributed to a special issue on “Discourse practices of video-oriented textual comments.”
While there is abundant research on text-based CMC-practices, studies on digital communication accompanying television broadcasts and video-streams have been sporadic so far. This special issue fills that gap and contributes to an improved understanding specifically of those textual comments that orient towards the video alongside which they are positioned.
