Strange happenings are afoot in the village of Edmonton. The local troupe of Morris dancers have fallen out ahead of their annual performance. Two villagers are engaged to be married, but one of them harbours a scandalous secret. And, driven by the superstitions of her whispering neighbours, Elizabeth Sawyer is accused of witchcraft.

Written in 1621 by John Ford, Thomas Dekker and William Rowley, The Witch of Edmonton is an early modern folk horror to rival The Wicker Man and Midsommar. Based on the real-life witch trial of Elizabeth Sawyer, this remarkable play challenges the hardened beliefs of its day, and in doing so reveals the dark underside of England’s green and pleasant land.

Tickets are CHF 15.- (reduced) and 25.- (regular) and can be reserved here.

This performance will be followed by a free Q&A session with members of the cast and the production team, which is open to all (even if you do not have a ticket for the show). You will be able to ask questions about the play or about the production process.
