2 student assistant job openingsPossibility to work on a joint research project by the Digital Humanities Lab and the Department of English
The research project WordWeb / Intertextuailty in Drama of the Early Modern Period, directed by Regula Hohl Trillini from the English Seminar and Lukas Rosenthaler from the DHLab, is offering two HiWi positions (25%, 10.5 hours per week) at the standard conditions. Both positions will run for 6 months from January 2019 and may be extended by another 3 months.
Student research assistants will work with Regula Hohl to create entries for the new WordWeb database of intertextual references in Early Modern drama. They will have to find and use information in secondary literature, locate specific passages in 17th-century plays, format them and enter them into the database with metadata and bibliographical references.
We offer: a friendly team atmosphere, the possibility to work independently and to hone your research skills as well as some flexibility in working hours, e.g. putting in a lot of hours in January and less towards the end of the semester.
We expect: The main requirements are readiness to engage with 16th- to 19th-century English texts (also in original spellings) and secondary literature and an eye for textual detail. If you are also quick in the uptake, a reasonably reliable typist and have a good sense of humour, you could be our person!
