DESCRIPTION:This international SAMEMES conference will take place within th
 e framework of the SNSF-project SwissBritNet: Swiss-British cultural excha
 nge and knowledge networks 1600-1780 [https://data.snf.ch/grants/grant/215
 254]. The conference will extend the investigation of these networks back 
 through the Middle Ages.\\r\\nThe study of early modern transnational rela
 tions in Europe has been advanced in recent years by digital humanities in
 itiatives enabling the large-scale collection\, visualization and analysis
  of data designed to improve our understanding of knowledge networks and t
 he Republic of Letters. Joining this international research community\, Sw
 issBritNet will highlight the nature and relevance of Swiss-British relati
